President Ersin Tatar said on Sunday that a great number of games were being played to break off relations between the Turkish Cypriot people and Türkiye.

He said that all attempts were futile as there was no force which could break the bond that exists between the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Türkiye.

Speaking during an event on Sunday, President Ersin Tatar drew attention to the strong bond that exists between the Turkish Cypriot people and the people of Anatolia.

He said that despite the attempts being made to break this bond, all efforts were in vain and nothing could disrupt the relations between the Turkish Cypriot people and Türkiye.

“We shall continue to work together. The TRNC is an important Turkic state in the Eastern Mediterranean. Recent developments in the region have proven just how important the TRNC is for the Turkish nation and its interests,” he added.

Tatar said that the TRNC continued to grow and develop thanks to the support of motherland Türkiye.

“Our new policy and the support given to it by motherland Türkiye has reached new levels. Our existence, our state and our republic is being talked about everywhere. It is our duty to maintain and preserve Turkish existence on this island and we shall continue to do everything we can,” the president said.
