The new special representative of the UN secretary-general, Colin Stewart will be received by President Ersin Tatar on Friday, it has been announced.
Tatar will be holding his first meeting with Stewart, who assumed his duties earlier in the month at the presidential palace at 3 o’clock tomorrow afternoon.
The UN envoy is also expected to meet with the Greek Cypriot leader on Friday morning.
The president will also be attending a UN reception at the Ledra Palace next Tuesday evening on the occasion of Stewart’s arrival to the island.
A limited number of guests will be attending the reception due to the pandemic measures in place.
The UN official, who replaced his predecessor Elizabeth Spehar, has also assumed his duties as head of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) and assistant special advisor to the Secretary-General.
