President Ersin Tatar said that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) gained great momentum despite all injustices and obstacles.

Tatar, who carried out investigations in the Güzelyurt region, said “We attach great importance to this region. We should take care of Güzelyurt. I believe that the contribution of the region to the national income will increase over time.”

President Ersin Tatar was in the Güzelyurt region on Wednesday where he met with war veterans and citrus producers.

Speaking during the visit, Tatar reminded that he came together regularly with Cypriot war veterans during his visits to Türkiye, informing them on the Turkish Cypriot side’s new policy carried out jointly with Türkiye.

Stating that the future of the Turkish Cypriot people depended on the two-state policy, the President said that the support given by Türkiye added strength to the Turkish Cypriot People.

“There is no turning back now. Türkiye’s guarantees and the presence of the Turkish Armed Forces ensure our security in Cyprus. In this context, I would like to express my gratitude to our war veterans and our martyrs. You are very valuable to us,” he said.

Noting that the Güzelyurt region had made great progress in citrus production following the arrival of the water from Türkiye, he pointed out that Güzelyurt was one of the most important settlements within the TRNC’s borders.
