Acting President and Speaker of Parliament Zorlu Töre has issued a message wishing Türkiye a speedy recovery from the Düzce earthquake.

He said that it was a relief that there was no loss of life due to the quake.

The Speaker of Parliament Zorlu Töre who is currently serving as acting president due to President Ersin’s Tatar’s visit to Türkiye issued a statement on Wednesday following the strong earthquake that shook the Turkish city of Düzce, east of Istanbul.

“We are deeply saddened by the news of the earthquake but it is a great relief that there has been no loss of life and minimum damage caused by the quake. I would like to wish Türkiye a speedy recovery,” he said.

Also touching upon the recent terror attacks in Türkiye, Töre said that the Turkish Cypriot people always stood by Türkiye and the Turkish nation.

“We are proud of Türkiye’s accomplishments,” he said.
