The Speaker of Parliament Zorlu Töre said that keeping the national and core values ​​of the people alive should be their main duty and emphasized that the Turkish Cypriots are a part of the great Turkish Nation.

He made the statement during a visit paid to him by the head of the Social Assistance and Solidarity Association Nafi Ölmez and his accompanying delegation.

Speaking during the visit the head of the Association Nafi Ölmez said that they acted with the concept of two flags one nation and that they were working to reinforce the brotherhood of the Republic of Türkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

Parliamentary Speaker Zorlu Töre for his part stated that keeping the national and core values ​​of the people alive should be their main duty and said, “Our subject is our nation and the subject is the Turkish nation. It is not right to accept anything other than that.”

Emphasizing that the Turkish Cypriots are part of the great Turkish Nation, Töre said that Atatürk’s expression “How happy is the one who says I am a Turk” unites us all.

Noting that the national cause should be the foundation, Töre said “our national anthem, our faith and religion are one”.
