The Speaker of Parliament Zorlu Töre received on Tuesday the Deputy Chairman of Türkiye’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), Bursa MP Efkan Ala and his accompanying delegation.

Parliamentary Speaker Töre expressed his belief that the status of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) will be upgraded.

Welcoming the AKP delegation on Tuesday, the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Zorlu Töre said that the future of the TRNC could not be separated from motherland Türkiye.

He also said that the Turkish Cypriot people fully supported Turkish President Recep Erdoğan’s call made at the UN General Assembly for the recognition of the TRNC.

“We believe that the status of the TRNC will be upgraded. The Cyprus cause is our common goal. We shall continue on our path with motherland Türkiye,” Töre said.

Also speaking, the Deputy AKP Chairman Efkan Ala said that the Turkish government was always by the side of the TRNC.

“I see that the TRNC is more developed every time I visit,” he said.

Ala also said that they desired the international recognition of the TRNC.
