The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre has said that developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Blue Homeland revealed the importance of the location of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

He said that Türkiye’s determined stance in the region was always admired by the Turkish Cypriot people.

Töre also said that the Turkish Cypriot people defended the national cause together with motherland Türkiye.

The Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of the TRNC Zorlu Töre on Monday received the newly appointed Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Yasin Ekrem Serim who is carrying out his first visit to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and his accompanying delegation.

The new Turkish Ambassador to Lefkoşa Metin Feyzioğlu and the Deputy General Director of the Turkish Foreign Ministry Berk Baran were also present during the visit.

Speaking during the meeting, the TRNC parliamentary speaker said that national cause was being defended together with motherland Türkiye.

Referring to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s famous remark that the world was larger than the five members of the UN Security Council, Töre said that the Security Council had lost its role.

He added that developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Blue Homeland revealed the importance of the location of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

Töre also said that Türkiye’s determined stance in the region was always admired by the Turkish Cypriot people.
