The President of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şentop met with his Turkish Cypriot counterpart Zorlu Töre on Tuesday as part of his contacts in the TRNC.

Şentop was in the TRNC to take part in Republic Day celebrations.

Speaking during the visit, Töre said that he was honoured to be hosting the representative of Türkiye and to share with him the celebratory events marking the anniversary of the establishment of the TRNC

While thanking Türkiye for its unconditional support, Töre said “The Turkish Cypriot people will always be together with motherland Türkiye and will proceed to the future in unity”.

The President of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şentop for his part said that Türkiye is always by the side of the Turkish Cypriots and that they will continue to act in unison.

“Türkiye’s greatest desire is for the perpetuation of the TRNC” said Şentop.
