Tourism figures in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) continue its positive trend recovering from a slow season last summer due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The occupancy rate at hotels has gone up by 33.2 per cent in the last six months compared to 10.3 per cent for the same period the previous year.
According to figures released by the Ministry of Tourism, the occupancy rate at hotels between January-June 2022 has gone up by 1.556 per cent compared to the previous year.
Overnight stays have gone up by 1.401 per cent.
The total number of Turkish and foreign tourists staying at tourism resorts and facilities in the first half of 2022 was 377, 336.
This figure stood at 22, 788 the previous year.
While the number of Turkish tourists showed a 1.480 per cent increase compared to the previous year reaching 282,499, the number of foreign tourists rose by 1.833 per cent compared to the same period the previous year reaching 94, 837.
