Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay once again reiterated Turkey’s support to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
Speaking on BRT’s main news bulletin via phone, the Turkish Vice President evaluated the environmental disaster that was caused by the petrol leak that made its way from Syria and said that Turkey is a strong state and that Turkey’s relations and solidarity with the TRNC are clear.
“All of our means belong to the TRNC at the same time” said Oktay and added that there was nothing to worry about as all the necessary precautionary measures have been taken.
Noting that Turkey always follows all developments taking place in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Oktay added that as from the very beginning all preparations and all the means in Turkey were mobilized for the TRNC.
Explaining that they were in close consultations with both President Ersin Tatar and Prime Minister Ersan Saner, Oktay said that Turkey’s institutions and organisations in the TRNC are in direct consultations with the crisis centres established in the country and are assisting in the crisis.
Explaining that two ships that are technologically advanced and have sea surface oil detection radars have been deployed to the area, Oktay said that all necessary measures have been taken to prevent the disaster from reaching the shores.
“There is no cause for concern. We have been working in cooperation from the very beginning. There is no need for our siblings in the TRNC to be concerned. All the necessary measures have been taken” said Oktay.
