The Health Ministry on Wednesday reported 109 new positive cases of coronavirus following 17,403 diagnostic tests carried out in the last 24 hours.

According to the Health Ministry, four of the individuals arrived from abroad, 30 people were under observation for coming into contact with previous Covid-19 cases, while 75 positive cases were locally transmitted.

27 of the cases are from the Lefkoşa District, 19 from the Girne District, 24 from the Gazimağusa District and five from the İskele District.

106 people recovered and were sent home.

Meanwhile, South Cyprus on the other hand reported 200 new positive cases and one death on Wednesday.

Also, the Health Ministry urges anyone who has come into contact with persons who have tested positive for Covid-19 or those who display symptoms of the virus such as fever, coughing and fatigue or loss of smell or taste to contact the Health Ministry Contact Tracing Team.
