The Health Ministry on Sunday reported 117 new positive cases of coronavirus and one death following 18,655 diagnostic tests carried out in the last 24 hours.

According to the Health Ministry 17 people were under observation for coming into contact with previous Covid-19 cases, while 100 positive cases were locally transmitted.

39 of the cases are from the Lefkoşa District, 29 from the Girne District, 22 from the Gazimağusa District, three from the İskele District, four from the Güzelyurt District and three from the Lefke District.

137 people recovered and were sent home.

Meanwhile, South Cyprus on the other hand reported 133 new positive cases on Sunday.

Also, the Health Ministry urges anyone who has come into contact with persons who have tested positive for Covid-19 or those who display symptoms of the virus such as fever, coughing and fatigue or loss of smell or taste to contact the Health Ministry Contact Tracing Team.
