The Health Ministry on Wednesday reported 143 new positive cases of coronavirus following 20,280 diagnostic tests carried out in the last 24 hours.

According to the Health Ministry data, 114 positive cases were locally transmitted one positive case arrived from abroad while 28 were under observation for coming into contact with previous Covid-19 cases.

36 of the cases are from the Lefkoşa District, 23 from the Girne District, 41 from the Gazimağusa District, 12 from the Iskele District and two from the Lefke District.

While one person died from the virus 117 people recovered and were sent home

South Cyprus on the other hand reported 143 new positive cases and two deaths on Wednesday.

Also, the Health Ministry urges anyone who has come into contact with persons who have tested positive for Covid-19 or those who display symptoms of the virus such as fever, coughing and fatigue or loss of smell or taste to contact the Health Ministry Contact Tracing Team.
