TRNC: 143 new positive cases, S. Cyprus 147 new cases

The Health Ministry on Sunday reported 143 new positive cases of Coronavirus following 8,748 diagnostic tests carried out in the last 24 hours.

A 29-year-old woman who had been receiving treatment in ICU also died.

109 of cases were locally transmitted.

The ministry reports that four people who arrived to the TRNC via air tested positive and also 30 contact cases that were under surveillance for being in close contact with other positive cases.

41 of the cases are from the Lefkoşa District, 32 from the Girne District, 28 from the Gazimağusa District, six from the Iskele District, and two from the Güzelyurt District

109 people have recovered and have been sent home.

Meanwhile, 147 positive cases and two deaths were reported in South Cyprus on Monday.

Also the Health Ministry urges anyone who has come into contact with persons who have tested positive for Covid-19 or those who display symptoms of the virus such as fever, coughing and fatigue or loss of smell or taste to contact the Health Ministry Contact Tracing Team.
