The Health Ministry on Wednesday reported 143 new positive cases of Coronavirus following 15,744 diagnostic tests carried out in the last 24 hours.

125 are locally transmitted cases.

One person also died against the virus, its reports.

The ministry reports that one person arrived to the TRNC via air and 17 positive cases have been put under surveillance for being in close contact with other positive cases.

48 of the cases are from the Lefkoşa District, 49 from the Girne District, 13 from the Gazimağusa District, three from the Iskele District, six from the Güzelyurt District and six from the Lefke District.

112 people have recovered and have been sent home, reports the ministry.

Meanwhile, 256 positive cases and four deaths were reported in South Cyprus on Wednesday.
