The Health Ministry on Thursday reported 165 new positive cases of coronavirus following 15,719 diagnostic tests carried out in the last 24 hours.

According to the Health Ministry, 36 people were under observation for coming into contact with previous Covid-19 cases, while 129 positive cases were locally transmitted.

37 of the cases are from the Lefkoşa District, 35 from the Girne District, 43 from the Gazimağusa District, three from the Güzelyurt District, nine from the İskele District and two from the Lefke District.

While one person died from the virus 212 people recovered and were sent home.

Meanwhile, South Cyprus reported one death and 978 new cases on Thursday.
