The Health Ministry on Sunday reported 196 new positive cases of coronavirus following 19,689 diagnostic tests carried out in the last 24 hours.

According to the Health Ministry, three people came from abroad, 34 people were under observation for coming into contact with previous Covid-19 cases, while 159 positive cases were locally transmitted.

78 of the cases are from the Lefkoşa District, 36 from the Girne District, 21 from the Gazimağusa District, three from the Güzelyurt District, 19 from the İskele District and two from the Lefke District.

While one person died from the virus 187 people recovered and were sent home.

Meanwhile, South Cyprus reported 912 new cases on Sunday.
