The Health Ministry on Monday reported 242 new positive cases of coronavirus following 27,282 diagnostic tests carried out in the last 24 hours.

According to the Health Ministry, 38 people were under observation for coming into contact with previous Covid-19 cases, while 204 positive cases were locally transmitted.

86 of the cases are from the Lefkoşa District, 57 from the Girne District, 29 from the Gazimağusa District, 12 from the Güzelyurt District, 15 from the İskele District and five from the Lefke District.

262 people recovered and were sent home.

Meanwhile, South Cyprus reported 706 new cases and one death on Monday.
