The Health Ministry on Wednesday reported 247 new positive cases of coronavirus following 17,050 diagnostic tests carried out in the last 24 hours.

According to the Health Ministry, one person arrived from abroad, 23 people were under observation for coming into contact with previous Covid-19 cases while 223 positive cases were locally transmitted.

80 of the cases are from the Lefkoşa District, 61 from the Girne District, 49 from the Gazimağusa District, 11 from the Güzelyurt District, 11 from the İskele District and 11 from the Lefke District.

201 people recovered and were sent home.

Meanwhile, South Cyprus reported 3,050 new cases on Wednesday.
