The Health Ministry on Thursday reported 209 new positive cases of coronavirus following 16,840 diagnostic tests carried out in the last 24 hours.

According to the Health Ministry, one person came from abroad, 21 people were under observation for coming into contact with previous Covid-19 cases while 284 positive cases were locally transmitted.

101 of the cases are from the Lefkoşa District, 77 from the Girne District, 83 from the Gazimağusa District, two from the Güzelyurt District, 20 from the İskele District and one from the Lefke District.

While one person died from the virus 155 people recovered and were sent home.

Meanwhile, South Cyprus reported 3,851 new cases on Thursday.
