The Health Ministry on Sunday reported 71 new positive cases of coronavirus following 17,732 diagnostic tests carried out in the last 24 hours.

According to the Health Ministry data, 54 cases were locally transmitted. Three of the cases were overseas and 14 were contacts of persons who previously tested positive for Covid-19.

30 of the cases are from the Lefkoşa District, four from the Girne District, nine from the Gazimağusa District, two from the Güzelyurt District and nine from the İskele District.

The data shows that 111 people have recovered and have been sent home.

In the meantime 78 positive cases and one death were also reported in South Cyprus on Sunday.

Also, the Health Ministry urges anyone who has come into contact with persons who have tested positive for Covid-19 or those who display symptoms of the virus such as fever, coughing and fatigue or loss of smell or taste to contact the Health Ministry Contact Tracing Team.
