The Health Ministry on Sunday reported 71 new positive cases of coronavirus following 16,059 diagnostic tests carried out in the last 24 hours.

The ministry reported that six positive cases arrived from abroad and 15 were contact cases that were under surveillance for being in close contact with other positive cases.

50 cases were locally transmitted.

17 of the cases are from the Lefkoşa District, 21 from the Girne District, nine from the Gazimağusa District and three from the Iskele District.

237 people have recovered and have been sent home.

94 positive cases were also reported in South Cyprus on Sunday.
