The Health Ministry on Monday reported 76 new positive cases of coronavirus following 21,248 diagnostic tests carried out in the last 24 hours.

The ministry reported that two positive cases arrived from abroad and 16 were contact cases that were under surveillance for being in close contact with other positive cases.

58 cases were locally transmitted.

27 of the cases are from the Lefkoşa District, 16 from the Girne District, four from the Gazimağusa District, six from the Güzelyurt District and five from the Iskele District.

While one person died from the virus 292 people have recovered and have been sent home.

156 positive cases and one dead were also reported in South Cyprus on Monday.

Also the Health Ministry urges anyone who has come into contact with persons who have tested positive for Covid-19 or those who display symptoms of the virus such as fever, coughing and fatigue or loss of smell or taste to contact the Health Ministry Contact Tracing Team.
