The Health Ministry on Wednesday reported 79 new positive cases of coronavirus following 17,223 diagnostic tests carried out in the last 24 hours.

According to the Health Ministry, 65 positive cases were locally transmitted, three were from abroad and 11 were under observation for being in contact with previous Covid-19 cases.

17 of the cases are from the Lefkoşa District, 18 from the Girne District, 16 from the Gazimağusa District, 10 from the Iskele District one from the Güzelyurt District, and three from the Lefke District.

76 recoveries have been recorded.

Meanwhile, South Cyprus reports 100 new positive cases and one death in the last 24 hours.
