The Health Ministry on Wednesday reported 80 new positive cases of coronavirus following 15,700 diagnostic tests carried out in the last 24 hours.

The ministry reported that one positive case arrived from abroad and eight were contact cases that were under surveillance for being in close contact with other positive cases.

71 cases were locally transmitted.

28 of the cases are from the Lefkoşa District, 14 from the Girne District, 21 from the Gazimağusa District, four from the Güzelyurt District, two from the İskele District and two from the Lefke District.

123 people have recovered and have been sent home.

106 positive cases were also reported in South Cyprus on Wednesday.
