Ankara hosted the TRNC National Day reception on Monday night.
Speaking at the reception postponed due to the treacherous terrorist attack in Türkiye, TRNC Ambassador to Ankara İsmet Korukoğlu said that the TRNC is the most valuable work of the honourable struggle for existence of the Turkish Cypriot People.
The 39th anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus was celebrated with a reception in the Turkish capital Ankara on Monday night.
Speaking at the event where many guests attended including the Minister of National Defence of Türkiye Hulusi Akar, the TRNC Ambassador to Ankara İsmet Korukoğlu stated that the Turkish Cypriot people gained their freedom and security with the Turkish Peace Operation on July 20, 1974.
He said that the TRNC had struggled for years for its existence, sovereignty, freedom and rights with the support of Türkiye.
Giving his views regarding the solution of the Cyprus issue, Korukoğlu said that the main problem underlying the Cyprus issue is the inequality created by the international community regarding the statuses of the two parties on the island.
Korukoğlu stated that reaching a solution based on the new vision put forward by President Ersin Tatar and this approach in line with the realities on the island, will make significant contributions not only to Cyprus but also to the peace, prosperity and stability of the Eastern Mediterranean.
Reminding that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had invited the international community to officially recognize the TRNC in his speech at the United Nations General Assembly, Korukoğlu noted that this call was a turning point on the Cyprus issue, and expressed his gratitude to the Turkish President due to the call he made.
