The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is set to have its own national airline.
The Ministry of Public Works and Transportation and the Ministry of Finance have been authorized to establish a national airline company.
The decision taken by the Council of Ministers in this regard was published in the Official Gazette.
The Council of Ministers have taken a decision to authorize the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation and the Ministry of Finance for the establishment of a national airline company.
The decision published in the Official Gazette is as follows:
“The Council of Ministers has decided to work with the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation and the Ministry of Finance to initiate the necessary studies for the establishment of a national airline, which will contribute greatly to the economy of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), predominantly the tourism and education sector. Therefore it has been decided that the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation and the Ministry of Finance will be tasked to make the necessary preparations for a protocol that will ensure the establishment of a national airline company”.
