A certificate of authorization has been given to Kuzey Kıbrıs Turkcell for the 4.5/5G tender.

Speaking during the ceremony, the Minister of Public Works and Transportation Erhan Arıklı said that the country was in need of this technology.

Finance Minister Alişan Şan who also attended the ceremony said that they were doing all they could in order for technology to be used effectively in all areas.

Kuzey Kıbrıs Turkcell, which won the 4.5/5G tender opened by the Information Technologies and Communications Authority (BTHK), was given an authorization certificate at a ceremony this morning (on Tuesday).

The ceremony was held at the Information Technologies and Communications Authority building.

Speaking during the ceremony the Minister of Finance Alişan Şan emphasized that the age is the age of information and technology and that they should be used effectively in all areas

Minister Şan noted that thanks to information and technology, audits will be facilitated and more suitable living conditions will be offered.

The Minister of Public Works and Transportation Erhan Arıklı for his part stated that the tender was only realised after great efforts had been exerted and added that it will contribute to the country’s finances.

Emphasizing the importance of technology, Arıklı explained that there is a stance against technology, but that 5G has been adopted in many countries around the world, and 4.5G has just been adopted in the TRNC.

Voicing his view that 4.5G will be brought to the people within 5 to 6 months time, Arıklı stated that they did not have the luxury to wait 4 to 5 years for 5G and said that Kuzey Kıbrıs Turkcell has the capacity to make it available to the country sooner.
