200,000 tree saplings donated by Turkey as part of efforts to reforest the Tepebaşı and Kalkanlı areas that were destroyed in a fire in 2020 arrived in the TRNC on Wednesday.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, the Head of the Forestry Department Cemil Karzaoğlu received the saplings that were delivered to the Güzelyurt Forest Nursery.

The aid and collaboration received to date between the governments of Turkey and the TRNC is in line with a 2010 protocol signed between the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the TRNC Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

The statement reminded that vehicle spare parts, devices, equipment and two fire sprinklers had also been donated to the TRNC from Turkey last year.
