Turkey’s National Defence Ministry said on Tuesday that the Turkish Armed Forces will continue to protect the rights and interests of Turkey and the TRNC in the Aegean and Mediterranean.

A top military official from Turkey’s Defence Ministry said that Greece continued to adopt a provocative stance in the region by issuing unnecessary NAVTEXs (Navigational notice), NOTAMs (Notice to airmen) and NOTMARs (Notice to mariners.

She said that Greece had violated a moratorium agreement between the two countries to refrain from holding military or training exercises on national and religious holidays.
