Ünal Üstel announces that Mobile Vaccination Units have been increased

Health Minister Ünal Üstel has announced that as of Monday the 13th of September individuals who have not been vaccinated will be banned from entering casinos, bars, clubs, indoor gyms, indoor team sports and entering stadiums.

Evaluating the decisions taken in line with the fight against COVID-19 and PCR and Rapid test centres Minister Üstel emphasized that in addition to the rules in the fight against the pandemic the most important weapon is undoubtedly to be vaccinated.

Stating that a total of 414 thousand 963 vaccinations have been carried out in the country so far, Minister Üstel said that the number of people who received the first dose of vaccine was 212 thousand 117, and the number of people who received the second dose of vaccine was 202 thousand 846.

He also announced that the number of Mobile Vaccination Units have been increased and will be operating at open market places in Lefkoşa, Girne and Gazimağusa.

Explaining that those who have not been vaccinated at all need to take their ID cards with them to the mobile units in order to get vaccinated, Minister Üstel also reminded those who want to get their second dose and third doses at the Mobile Vaccination units need to take their vaccination cards with them.

He said that the Mobile Vaccination Units will be stationed at the Lefkoşa open market on Sunday’s, Girne open market on Wednesday’s and at the Gazimağusa open market on Thursday’s between 3pm and 7pm.

Touching upon the AdaPass application, Health Minister Üstel reminded that the application has been activated so that individuals’ vaccination and test status can easily be checked electronically.

Stating that the necessary work is being carried out in order to promote the application, Üstel stated that passengers coming from abroad will also enter the country by showing all their information via the AdaPass application.

“There is no obligation for those who are coming from abroad or for those who are entering domestically and who are having difficulties in applying for AdaPass to enter with the application as the deadline to download the application has been extended until September 27” said Üstel.

He also stated that PCR and Rapid test centers will continue to be held at previously announced locations.
