Üstel and Taçoy visit Lapta Nursing Home

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel visited the Lapta region together with the Minister of Labour and Social Security Hasan Taçoy.

During their tour of the region they visited the Lapta Nursing Home.

Speaking during the visit, Prime Minister Üstel expressed his pleasure to be with those residing at the nursing home and said that they continued to work in order to make the elderly more comfortable.

Stating that they have signed some projects in cooperation with NGOs as well as the state and private sector, Üstel stated that the North Cyprus Mare Monte Entrepreneurial Charity Association made valuable contributions to the region.

In this context, Üstel said that the association donated 5 wheelchairs and 3 TVs for the elderly and underlined the importance of cooperation with the state, non-governmental organizations and local governments.

Emphasizing that with this solidarity, they will take firm steps towards the future, Prime Minister Üstel stated that the foundations of a new nursing home in Lapta were laid on November 15, and will be inaugurated on November 15 next year, once the construction is completed.

The Minister of Labour and Social Security Hasan Taçoy for his part noted that the solidarity of citizens and non-governmental organizations in the region is evident.

He also added that social activities will be provided to both the public and those in nursing homes with “the kindness workshop” that has been started by the North Cyprus Mare Monte Entrepreneurial Charity Association.
