Prime Minister Ünal Üstel is in the Turkish capital Ankara for his first official visit after the establishment of the new government.
Üstel who embarked on his contacts this morning first visited Anıtkabir, Atatürk’s mausoleum in line with the tradition of visiting state officials.
Following the laying of wreaths and the signing of the special book, Prime Minister Üstel met with the Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay at the presidential palace.
This will be followed by a meeting of the delegations.
Üstel will then be received by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan later in the afternoon.
Coalition partners Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu and the Minister of Public Works and Transportation Erhan Arıklı are accompanying Prime Minister Üstel during the visit.
Deputy Governor of Ankara Murat Soylu, TRNC Ambassador to Ankara Kemal Köprülü, Deputy Mayor of Ankara Sercan Çağın, Deputy Gendarme Commander of Ankara Provincial Gendarmerie Command Gendarmerie Colonel Nuh Göktaş, the head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry’s Cyprus Department Yasemin Öztürk and other military and civil officials greeted Üstel and his accompanying delegation at Ankara Esenboğa Airport.
Later this afternoon he will also hold a meeting with the Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Mustafa Şentop.
Prime Minister Üstel and his accompanying delegation will return to the republic on Wednesday after completing their contacts in Ankara.
