Water irrigation project proceeding full speed

The Turkish Republic’s Development and Economic Cooperation Agency (KEI), announced on Monday that work to complete the second stage of the Water Transfer Project for irrigation purposes is continuing at full speed.

Once completed, the project will help irrigate an area of 16,873 hectares in the Güzelyurt and Mesarya plain, 9,720 hectares in central Mesarya and 7,153 hectares in Güzelyurt.

According to the information given to the TAK news agency by the KEI Agency, a 5.7km long watering tunnel, and a 450m long gallery have been constructed.

582m long steel pipes have also been manufactured as part of the project.

The statement said that 95 per cent of the 3.75km 1st stage of the Central Mesarya Plain Irrigation Project has been constructed.
