The Deputy Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment issued a statement regarding the fire that wrecked havoc in the country last week.
In its statement it noted that it was deeply saddened for all the loss of wildlife in the fire and added that the ministry will lead the efforts in order for the necessary laws to be reviewed.
In a written statement, the Deputy Prime Ministry, Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment, pointed out that the wildfire which had destroyed a large swath of forest had deeply hurt the whole country.
It stated that it is of great importance to raise awareness on the issue in order to prevent such disasters from reoccurring.
The statement also pointed out the ministry will continue to draw awareness on the issue and that it was ready to contribute to all efforts aimed at the recovery of the areas affected by the fire.
“Before planting efforts take place, there is a need for extensive study to be carried out with experts. It is of great importance to organize a workshop in which all these will be shaped and which will allow all stakeholders to come together and share responsibilities. In addition, all planting and recovery work should be done in consultation with the relevant public and non-governmental organizations” the statement read.
The statement also pointed to the importance of preserving biodiversity in our forests.
